The Long Trail passes through some of the most beautiful places in Vermont as it ambles past beaver ponds and lush walls of moss and opens to expansive views along the Monroe Skyline. Sometimes the trail is fifteen feet wide as winds down a forest lane. Other times it is eighteen inches wide as it slabs a steep mountain. Day hikes on the LT are a great family activity with easy access on the gaps. Many have the goal to "end-to-end."
